Understanding Our Condition Ranking
Vintage pieces naturally show signs of prior use. Our condition ranking system is designed to set clear and honest expectations. It is not meant to compare pieces or suggest that one is better than another. Each rating reflects visible wear relative to age, while prioritizing structure, wearability, and overall presentation.
Good
Pieces in good condition show noticeable signs of wear consistent with age, such as visible rubbing, creasing, or surface marks. These signs do not affect the bag’s function or structure.
Great
Pieces in great condition show visible vintage wear while remaining well maintained, balanced, and comfortable to use. Wear is present but not distracting.
Excellent
Pieces in excellent condition show gentle, even wear consistent with careful use. This category often reflects a strong balance of character, structure, and everyday wearability.
Pristine
Pieces in pristine condition show minimal visible wear for their age and are especially well preserved. This indicates limited prior use rather than superiority in design or value.
Important Context
Vintage condition is not the same as new condition.
Wear does not equal damage.
A higher rank does not mean better design or greater value.
We prioritize balance, structure, and usability over perfection.
Our goal is transparency so you can make an informed decision.
